The difference between cold and hot hair extension!

Whether you are looking for length or volume, hair extensions give you the ability to create your dream hairstyle. Two of the most popular methods used in hair extensions are cold and hot fusion. Though the methods have their differences, both offer the ability to improve your hair texture and body.

Types of hair: The cold fusion method is suitable for all hair types but was developed for fine or brittle hair. The cold fusion method does not use heat, which can cause undue stress on your delicate hair. Hot fusion extensions are suitable for thicker, coarser hair.

How they applied : Though both types of fusion involve attaching hair at or near the root, cold fusion does not use heat. Rather, a keratin-based polymer is used to attach the hair to the root. The heat fusion method uses a heating tool along with keratin-based hot glue to bond the hair together.

Realistic feeling: Cold fusion extensions normally blend well with your real hair, with little or no stiffness. The polymer is flexible, and cold fusion extensions allow your extensions to move freely with your hair. Heat fusion extensions have been known to feel stiffer and not as realistic as cold fusion extensions.

The longevity: cold fusion extensions will last up to six months. Heat fusion extensions can be expected to last up to four months. Both methods require monthly tightening to avoid damage to your natural hair.
