HOW TO CREATE LASTING CURLS WITH HUMAN HAIR

It is difficult not to admit the beauty of curly hair. We all love curls. Most times, women go for hairs with curls. Other times, they get straight hair but with time, change them from straight to curly hair to conform to their want for wearing curls. Whether the curls in the curly weaves have dropped or you want to change the straight hair to curly hair, this article will be of great help to you. There are three major methods you can deploy to achieve curly hair but the question is “how long will the curls last?” This piece will enumerate the methods for creating lasting curls.

Human hair weaves are usually treated like our biological hair because they have like features. In other words, you can dye, perm, or use heat styling tools on your human hair just like you would do your natural hair. It will also take you the same time and step for curling either your biological hair or your human hair weave.

Let’s look at the methods of curling the human hair weave.

Curling without heat
You can curl your human hair without using any heat styling instrument that can damage your hair. Any of the following can be done to achieve this.

1. The braiding method
Wash your hair following the recommended process of washing hair. Do not dry the hair. Instead, use a clean towel to pat the hair so as to remove excess water. Carefully run a wide-toothed comb through the hair to remove tangles. Now, section the hair into smaller parts and braid tightly. Allow the hair to stay that dry overnight. The next morning loosen the braids and run your fingers through the curls to make it neater. Your hair is ready.

2. The rollers method
We already know the rollers. They are commonly used to curl the biological hair. These same rollers can be used for human hair weaves. Use the magnetic rollers or those types that are covered in satin NOT the sponge rollers to achieve amazing results. The sponge rollers dry out the hair moisture and natural oil.

3. Flexible rods
Unlike rollers, the hair is meant to be wrapped around the flexible rods. These rods help you control the size of curls you can give our hair. Many people prefer using flex-rods because you can work with them on both wet or dry hair.

4. Bantu knots
Bantu knot is another means of giving your hair beautiful curls. Just like for Flexi – rods, you can use this method on either wet or dry hair. Simply tie the hair into knots, allow it to stay for some hours, and loosen the knots. The good thing is that you can wear the Bantu knots out while waiting for your curls. It is a style that gives you a different look.

5. Curl formers
The curlformers are types of rollers that are seen in various sizes. With the different sizes of curl formers, you can decide the curl sizes from bold waves to tiny tight curls.
It is worthy to note that these without heat methods only give temporary curls. The curls may only last for a few days.

Heat styling equipment
You can also use a curling iron to achieve a curled hair. It is better to work with your hair in smaller sections. The smaller the sections, the longer the curl is likely to last.

Use a heat protectant. Applying a heat protectant will help protect the strands from the heat. Note that they do not thoroughly protect your hair against heat damage. You still need to use a low heat level while curling the hair.

Don’t use the heat on the hair when it is wet as wet hairs are more susceptible to damage. You should test the heat on a hidden part of the weave first before starting the work properly.

The Boiling Technique
The boiling technique offers a lasting curl. Many people are not conversant with this pattern. The following procedure will guide you if you want to use this method.

Set a pot of water on your stove. You may want to use a pot that is big enough to accommodate the hair. Add a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil to the water. Also, add a little conditioner and allow the water to boil.

While waiting for the water to boil, get one roll of foil; shape the foil into rods by cutting them into rectangles and squeezing them into rods. Note that the size of the rods determines the curl size.

So, if you want a tight curl, you will have to make the rods small and vice versa. The bendy rollers can be another option in this case but you don’t want to give room for any form of a house fire as plastics burn.

Prepare your weave by combing/brushing thoroughly and separating the hair into sections.

To make your work neat, roll each section of the hair around your finger before putting it on the rod. Rolling it around your finger first also helps create the stunning spiral effects.

Wrap the hair around the rod tightly. Make sure there is no space in-between. It helps to create tight curls. Continue wrapping it around till you reach the top of the tracks. Here, use the foil end to wrap the top of that hair. By doing this, it will be difficult for the hair to untie in the pot.

Continue this process until all the weaves have been worked on.

Toss in the weave one after the other into the pot, cover it and let it boil for 1-2 hours.

Take out the hair and place it on a towel to soak out excess water. Afterward, hang it to air dry.

When the hair dries, remove the rod and separate the curls with your fingers.

Shampoo and condition the hair.

Your curly human hair is ready for installation.

Now, you know how to create your curls, you can start trying it out.
