There are so many hair extensions like tape-in, bonded, clip-in, and so on. For salon owners, I believe they will recommend tape-in or bonded hair extensions as these products are their tastes. But these products cost high and can’t be taken off by ourselves. they’re not recommended for personal use.
If we want to use a hair extension to do a ponytail at home by ourselves, invisible clip-in hair extensions will be a good choice.

How to get a ponytail with hair extensions?
Ponytail style 1: If your hair is short and want to get a long ponytail, steps as below:
1.Make a tiny ponytail of your hair on top where you want to tie all the hair in a pony.
2.Choose a three-clip weft and clip it around the tiny ponytail. Clip the middle clip on top of the tiny ponytail, then clip the side two clips under the tiny ponytail.
3.Choose a 3-clip weft again, clip the middle clip under the tiny ponytail and then clip the 2 side clips on top of the tiny ponytail.
4.If you need more volume, you can choose a 4-clip weft on the ponytail again.
5.Then pull the top of your own hair to cover the wefts. After that, pull all of your hair back and grab them in a high ponytail. Loose some hair in front on top to make it much more natural.
Ponytail style 2: If your hair is long and want to get a thicker ponytail, steps as below:
Step 1: tack two extension wefts together so you don’t the issue of falling out.
Step 2: Make a section on top of your hair, put the top of the hair in front, and clip in forward. Put the two tacked wefts on top of the section hair.
Step 3: Comb all your hair toward the front and smooth all your hair, then flip it up.
Step 4: Loose on top of your hair or pull a bit of hair to do some face-framing. Then done.
Tips: For using clip-in hair extensions, you don’t have to apply all of them in your hair, just pick some wefts to gain the volume you need.
